Hey guys.
Here are some infusion days tips I have found that work for me.
I find that drinking extra water the day before helps with the after effects. Also taking Tylenol - 2 extra strength before and then four hours later helps me with the headache that comes right after a rapid infusion. Passing the time during an infusion is something I have gotten great at. I send my dad out to get me some delicious food that I can enjoy while having the infusion- this definitely gives me something to look forward and gives me a good association with infusion day. Our infusion site is in NYC so we get everything from ramen to dumplings to nyc deli style sandwhiches. I even once had food-truck Birria tacos- but those were a bit spicy and warnings for if spicy food triggers you. I also love a NYC breakfast egg sandwhich so that’s an always a good option.
I always plan for a miserable next day of tiredness but I’m noticing that if I drink a lot of water the day before, I’m not quite as exhausted and miserable.
My infusions are now considered rapid infusion but with the extra added iron infusions, it still takes about 3 hours total. I have seen some kids bring a switch with them but I like catching on my shows. Right now I highly recommend the new season of FUTURAMA on Hulu. Talk to you next month and don’t forget to DONATE!
